Brothers and Sisters:

It is with enthusiasm and excitement that I am proud to announce your Western Pacific Region Labor Relations Team.  I am very thankful to each and every one of them for agreeing to serve on this team, especially with what we, as an organization, are facing with this hostile agency.  It should be understood that each and every one of them will be very busy and will be doing most of this work on their own time.

In the current NATCA structure, the NWP RVP, by himself, cannot provide the dedication and attention that each member deserves.  There are 55 facilities in this region and approximately 1,750 Union members.  There are just too many issues occurring right now for a region of this size.  In an effort to provide real-time response and full attention to issues as they arise, we have developed a labor-relations team to assist facility officers in all labor relations matters.

In this new LR structure, no power or responsibility will be lessened or impeded at any level.  The LR Team is comprised of twenty-one NATCAvists.  Nineteen of those are assigned to specific facilities, one LR Lead and one LR Counsel.  The nineteen assigned LR Team members are here to provide immediate assistance to FACREPs and their respective membership.  The LR Lead and Counsel will be available to help any LR Team member in case any of them get overloaded or face a situation that may need additional attention.

The LR Team is in place and working for all NATCA members.  That said, it is imperative that all NATCA members contact their locally elected officers first with any issues.  It will be the responsibility of the LR Team to ensure local officers have the tools and resources necessary to assist their respective membership.  It is preferred that the LR Team advocate assigned to your facility should only be contacted if your local officers are not available or unable to assist you.  If the LR Team advocate is contacted directly, bypassing local officers, the system may not work and issues may be inappropriately handled or accidentally dropped.

Local officers have a duty to provide the best representation that they possibly can to their respective membership.  The LR Team has a duty to provide local officers the assistance they need to fulfill their obligation to their local.

Local officers are encouraged to contact their LR Team advocate whenever a need arises.  Whether it is a need for initial guidance, answers to specific questions, or just a second opinion that is needed, please feel free to contact us.

Attached to this email is a complete list of your NWP LR Team along with their email addresses, the facility to which they are assigned and the facilities for which they are responsible as a Regional LR Advocate.

If there are any questions regarding how labor-relations with the NWP will be handled, please feel free to contact the LR Advocate assigned to your facility.

In Solidarity,

Mike Hull
Regional Labor Relations Lead
